More than ten years ago, a friend introduced me to henna, and something instantly clicked. I remember thinking, "I want to learn how to do this."

After completing my Master's degree in Fine Art Education in Slovakia, I travelled to Italy with a classmate to experience life as a street artist. Back then, every design took much longer than it does today, but every customer helped me learn, improve and fall a little more in love with the craft.

When I moved to the UK, I bought my very first gazebo and took the leap into running my own business. What began as a small festival stall has grown into Lena Henna Art — a creative space where I've had the privilege of meeting thousands of wonderful people at festivals, markets and community events across Dorset and beyond.

Over the years my business has grown with me. Henna remains at the heart of what I do, while biodegradable festival glitter and, more recently, jagua have become natural additions, giving people even more ways to celebrate, express themselves and create lasting memories.

I believe creativity has a special way of bringing people together. It starts conversations between strangers, gives children the confidence to choose something uniquely theirs, helps friends celebrate, and turns ordinary moments into lasting memories.

When you sit down in my chair, I want you to feel completely welcome. Every design begins with a conversation and usually a good laugh. If you leave smiling, feeling a little more confident and carrying a happy memory of your day, then I've done my job.

Because long after the henna fades and the glitter is washed away, the moments we create together are what truly last.
